The list goes on and on, with the point being there are many facets to caring for and maintaining a swimming pool. Such as water chemistry, circulation and filtration and the types of service that we offer.

By reading below you will find a brief explanation for each factor. You will find that if you remove one of these factors from the equation you will no longer have a beautiful swimming pool anymore; however you will have a swamp. Also, you want to remember your swimming pool is an investment, not only with monetary value but an investment in peace of mind and relaxation.

Circulation

Circulation is the flow of water throughout the pool and equipment. Circulation is controlled mainly by the pump. Other factors also influence the quality of circulation such as what size motor is on the pump, how many return lines are in the pool, if it has a spa, solar heating, dirty filter, clogged skimmer and pump baskets.

A pool needs to at the least turn-over once a day, which means that all of the water should pass through the filter once a day. In actuality, you should have a turn-over rate of twice per day. The turnover rate is usually every three to four hours. So let your swimming pool run six hours a day in the winter and eight hours a day in the summer.

In conclusion, it is very important to have a pump with the proper flow rate for your pool.

Filtration

Filtration is the process by which the swimming pools water is passed through the filter so that all of the contaminants are removed. Don’t be confused with chlorine cleaning the water, it disinfects the water killing germs and bacteria, it does not remove the contaminants. There are three different types of filters, all three are good and come in different shapes and sizes. You will want to be sure that your filter is designed for the flow rate of your pump. Too small of a filter will destroy the internal components of the internal components of the filter from too much pressure.
